French Toast, Pancakes and Waffles
Nutella French Toast
Start your day right, never skip a walk on the beach and a home made breakfast.
Ingredients
Servings: 12 - 14 individual slices plated
For the French Toast:
2 loafs challah bread
15 eggs
1 cup of butter – meltted
2 TBSP vanilla
1 1/2 cup half and half
2 tablespoons cinnamon
For the Vanilla Sea Salt Whipped Cream:
2 cups confectioners sugar
3 cups of heavy whipping cream
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp sea salt
For the Topping:
1 large jar of Nutella
Berry Sauce Mixture:
2 cups – frozen wild berries
1 cup orange juice
2 tTBSP grand marnier
2 TBSP vanilla
3 TBSP Corn Starch
1 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
1 orange – sliced
1 cup of strawberries – sliced
Fresh Mint
Confectioners Sugar
Cocoa
Directions
For the French Toast:
Slice the Challah Bread into 1 inch thick slices and set aside.
In a large bowl mix all the ingredients for the wet mixture (eggs, butter, vanilla, half and half and cinnamon) and set aside
For the Whipped Cream:
In a medium bowl combine the heavy whipping cream, sugar, vanilla and sea salt together and using a hand mixer blend until it reaches a thick consistency
For the Toppings:
Berry Sauce: In a medium sauce pan, over medium heat add frozen berries and allow to slightly taw. Add orange juice, vanilla, grand marnier, brown sugar and corn starch, mix well and bring all the ingredients to a boil (if desired add more cornstarch for thicker consistency). Set aside and let it slightly cool
Assembly:
- Dunk slices of challah bread into the wet mixture, and place on a hot griddle until golden brown on either side.
- Dust a large plate with cocoa and confectioners sugar.
- Set french toast slice on the plate and smear Nutella over it.
- Add sliced oranges and strawberries.
- Top with Berry Sauce Mixture.
- Top with Vanilla Sea Salt Whipped Cream.
- Finish with a touch of Confectioners Sugar and a spring of Fresh Mint
